Skepticism, Dialectic and Hegel

In the various periods of its development, philosophy found itself facing the need to overcome the skeptical thought when it made new beginnings.
It is the case with Plato over Sophists, Augustine over Skeptics, Descartes
over Montaigne, Kant over Hume, etc. In his time, Hegel also felt to settle accounts with Kant’s philosophy flirting with Skepticism and certain
tendencies challenging the attempt to know the truth through reason, as well as the skeptical perspective in general. What is original in his case is that he attempted to overcome the doubt by making it a critical moment of philosophical thought. This article discusses Hegel’s relationship with Skepticism in general and points out similar and different points between Skepticism and the Hegelian dialectic. Furthermore, it will put forward that Hegel’s conception of the history of philosophy can be considered as a reply to Skepticism through Skepticism.
