Plagiarism Policy
Sofist: An International Journal of Philosophy is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity.
All submissions must be original and must not have been previously published or be under consideration elsewhere.
Authors are required to submit a similarity report generated by a recognised plagiarism detection software (e.g., iThenticate, Turnitin, or similar) at the time of submission.
The similarity report must be uploaded as a supplementary file and should indicate that the manuscript complies with acceptable academic standards. High similarity rates, unreferenced overlaps, or evidence of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, may result in immediate rejection. The acceptable similarity threshold is generally expected to be below 20%, excluding references and properly cited quotations.
Authors are responsible for ensuring proper citation, quotation, and acknowledgement of all sources used in their work.
The editorial team reserves the right to request additional clarification or revised reports when necessary.
Any detected form of plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, or unethical reuse of content will result in rejection of the manuscript or retraction of the published article.
The journal follows internationally recognised ethical standards in handling allegations of academic misconduct.
